{"id":2938,"date":"2017-09-07T14:28:00","date_gmt":"2017-09-07T18:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aboutmpswr.wpengine.com\/?p=2938"},"modified":"2021-01-08T09:51:07","modified_gmt":"2021-01-08T09:51:07","slug":"setting-the-new-standard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aboutmps.com\/blog\/setting-the-new-standard\/","title":{"rendered":"Snow &amp; Ice Management: Setting the New Standard"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Professional Development, Ongoing Education and Continual Improvement for MPS in the Snow &amp; Ice Management Industry<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In order to remain a top snow &amp; ice management provider in what has become a very competitive service industry, MPS Property Services continually strives to improve our clients\u2019 experience through education, innovation and dedication all year round.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>We have spent a busy summer getting ready for the winter season that lies ahead, including:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>attending the 20<sup>th<\/sup> <strong><em>SIMA (Snow &amp; Ice Management Association)<\/em><\/strong> Symposium in Montreal<\/li>\n<li>successfully passing our 3<sup>rd<\/sup> consecutive <strong><em>ISO \/ SN 9001 Quality Management System<\/em><\/strong> audit<\/li>\n<li>working towards achieving <strong><em>Smart about Salt Certification<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>having key team members complete individual Industry Certifications<\/li>\n<li>bringing in the latest snow removal technologies to upgrade our winter operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sima.org\/\"><em><strong>SIMA<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Founded in 1996, <strong><em>SIMA i<\/em><\/strong>s North America\u2019s largest trade association for professionals involved with the snow &amp; ice industry. MPS has been a member for over 15 years, with President Jim Monk having served for several years on the <strong><em>SIMA<\/em><\/strong> Board of Directors (including two years as Board President), and MPS personnel have been active volunteers on SIMA committees and at various symposiums.<br \/>\nWe are in the process of doubling our number of <strong><em>SIMA Certified Snow Professionals (CSP)<\/em><\/strong>, from 2 to 4, and ensuring that four more team members will be certified in <strong><em>Advanced Snow Management<\/em><\/strong> before the onset of winter. In addition, <strong><em>SIMA <\/em><\/strong>has allowed MPS to grow and succeed through networking opportunities with other snow removal providers, ongoing training at seminars &amp; webinars, and through introductions to the latest technology that manufacturers and suppliers have to offer.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sima.org\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2946 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/aboutmps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/SIMA-LOGO.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"314\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aboutmps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/SIMA-LOGO.jpg 314w, https:\/\/aboutmps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/SIMA-LOGO-300x172.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 314px) 100vw, 314px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartaboutsalt.com\/\"><em><strong>Smart About Salt<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>The <strong><em>Smart about Salt <\/em><\/strong>Council is a Waterloo based organization that is dedicated toward expanding the best practices in salt management to improve winter safety and reduce salt use and its environmental impact. We believe in <strong><em>Smart about Salt\u2019s<\/em><\/strong> approach, and their belief that \u201cthere is strength in numbers and that together we can address the complex social, economic and environmental issues related to winter safety.\u201d<br \/>\nMPS Property Services is proud to be involved in this process of continual improvement, and for participating in the University of Waterloo\u2019s Salt Usage study over the past two winters.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartaboutsalt.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2945\" src=\"https:\/\/aboutmps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/SAS_WSMP_colR.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"314\" height=\"151\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aboutmps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/SAS_WSMP_colR.jpg 953w, https:\/\/aboutmps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/SAS_WSMP_colR-300x144.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aboutmps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/SAS_WSMP_colR-768x370.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 314px) 100vw, 314px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><em><strong>ISO 9001 (SN 9001)<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n<p>Finally, improving customer service has always been a priority for MPS. Achieving our <strong><em>ISO 9001 (SN 9001) Certification<\/em><\/strong> last year has proved to be of considerable effect in enhancing our clients\u2019 experience.
